With the completion of the Mushroom Cultivation training course, 1ST Bn SSB Sonapur (Assam) organised a closing ceremony of the training which was conducted for 10 days under Civic Action Programme in coordination with AGVB-RSETI, Chandmari under the guidance of Sh. Sunil Kaushik, Commandant, 1st Bn SSB Sonapur. This training programme aimed to alleviate poverty and generate employment opportunities for the underprivileged local populace. Thus, it has benefitted 35 unemployed and underprivileged women.
Certificates were distributed to facilitate the trainees and note the success of their important achievements. Sh. Rahul Mahanta, Director, AGVB-RSETI, Chandmari in his speech appreciated the Commandant of 1st Bn SSB Sonapur for initiating such programmes and further assured to help the women trainees for loans to set up their farm. The programme ended with the Commandant motivating the women to start small, to stay firm and expand their business slowly in the future. Mushroom spawns were also distributed as promised to encourage the trainees to aim to set up their mushroom farms and to enhance their livelihoods by making the most of such training programmes. Sh. Santosh Sharma, Lead District Manager also took part in the event to grace the ceremony.
